(Mu'amin) 40 : 34

And surely Yoosuf had come to you before with Evidence, then you never ceased your doubt concerning what he brought, until he died, then you said: Allah will never send a Messenger after him, just like that Allah lets astray the one who is a trespassing doubter.

Evidence is one of the 40 names of Adhikr. When Yoosuf came to Egypt before with the Message of Allah, you doubted it. But after his death, you praised him, saying that Allah wouldn’t send any Messenger after him. The believer is asking: Are you taking the same approach towards Moses as well? After receiving Adhikr, which is the Confirming Truth to remove all types of doubts as explained in verse 69: 51, whoever doesn’t confirm that he is a believer and remains in doubt about all things is strayed and trespassed. Through verses 25: 27-29, it is warned that on the Day of Judgement, these wrong-doing Fujjar will wail: Woe to me! If I had not taken so and so as my intimate friend, he strayed me from Adhikr after It had come to me; Satan was a manifest traitor to mankind. The scene of arguing, quarreling, and cursing among the hypocritical disbelievers and their blind followers in Hell is explained in verses 2: 165-167. See explanation 10: 57-58; 14: 9; 32: 10-12.
